I should clarify (as I suppose not everyone has the entirity of Hamlet memorized): All of the line mess ups that you are about to read are the product of my having a very poor short term memory and a uselessly/frighteningly good long term memory. All lines are some sort of synthesis of my current play A Comedy of Errors and The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark
************
My three saddest line screw-ups of A Comedy of Errors thus far:
1. The line:
Back villain or I will break thy pate across!
What I said:
"Back villain or I will break thy pate across, pluck off your beard and blow it in your face"
2. The line:
That thou art then astranged from thyself. Thyself I call it, for being strange to me... blah blah blah
What I said:
"Thou art then astranged from thyself. Thyself I call it, for to define thyself what is it to but to be... thee? Shit"
...and tonight's
3. The line:
The tongue though not my heart in this shall have his will
What I said:
"My tongue and heart in this be hypocrits"
It's official: my brain is broken.

Could have been worse. Take a mistake from 12th Night:
The Line: "A contract of eternal bond of love, Confirmed by mutual joinder of your hands, Strengthened by interchangement of your rings."
What Was Said: A contract of eternal something, Confirmed by mutual something of your hands, Strengthened by something something."
"Back villain or I will break thy pate across, pluck off your beard and blow it in your face"
Well I may not be a shakesphere expert, but that sounds pretty good to me.. ;-)
Thanks, I wrote it.
